What to Know Before We Build
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. I offer a mutual NDA for any project. I’m happy to sign yours or send mine before we discuss sensitive information.
What does your Discovery Session include?
You’ll get a 30–45 minute call, technical scoping, a timeline, and a flat-fee quote. It’s $250 and applied to your project if we move forward. It prevents surprises and saves us both time.
How much does a project usually cost?
Most projects land between $1,500 and $5,000 depending on complexity. Simple PCBs with firmware and enclosures start lower, while full systems or multi-unit builds go higher. I’ll scope everything clearly before we start.
How long does a project take?
Most builds take 3–6 weeks depending on parts, design needs, and revision cycles. I’ll give you a specific timeline in the quote.
Do I own the design files?
By default, I retain file ownership to keep your cost lower and allow for unlimited reorders.
If you need full file rights (Gerbers, STLs, firmware), I offer that as a buyout option—usually 25–50% of the total project fee.
What kind of hardware do you specialize in?
Low-voltage custom electronics using Microprocessors, CANBus, BLE, and WiFi. I build functional prototypes, one-off tools, and embedded control systems—plus the desktop apps to test or operate them if needed.
Can you help after the prototype is finished?
Yes. I can prep files for CNC, advise on production scaling, or help hand things off to your in-house or contracted dev team. I stay flexible depending on what you need.
